County Wexford Chamber was honoured to co-host the visit of the British Ambassador to Ireland, H.E. Paul Johnston to the Hatch Lab in Gorey on June 24.
The Ambassador shared how his role involved helping to foster links between the two neighbouring countries.
Key businesses were invited to meet the Ambassador, sharing insights about the opportunities and experiences of trading with the UK. For instance, Ambassador Johnston heard how weekly sailings to the Continent from Rosslare Europort had increased from three to 36 as businesses sought new routes to Europe. Elsewhere, businesses are navigating the impact of additional customs regulations, with some businesses leveraging opportunities presented by basing an office in Northern Ireland. Links between universities continue to grow, and Irish subsidiaries of UK companies also outlined their businesses.
