The final of the inaugural Wexford Has Talent competition is set to take place at Whites of Wexford this Saturday, February 14th.
Performers from as young as 11 will take to the stage showcasing skills from Trad Music and Singer Songwriter performances to Stand Up Comedy, Operatic and Classical performances along with Acrobatic Gymnastics and Dance.
The 14 different acts that have all qualified for a place in the final through the tough audition and Semi Final process, will take to the stage from 8pm for the Wexford Has Talent 2015 Grand Final. The overall winner will walk away with a €2,000 cash prize sponsored by Energia.
The finalists include singer and guitarist Andrew Berry, singer Jirat O’Neill, comedienne Hazel Devereux, singer Kevin Fitzharris, Acrobatic Gymnast Tara Doyle Robinson, singer Laura Donnelly and Trad group T Avenue, singer and musician Rachel Grace, singer Emma Murphy, dancer Eimear O’Donnagain, singer Lauren Doyle, band Fit For Kings, singer Paul Murphy and singer Evey Roche.
All acts will preform in front of a live audience and a panel of four judges, the combined audience vote of 50% and the judge’s vote of 50% will decide the winner. The judging panel includes David ‘stoney’ Burke, sue furlong and Ian Grey and the MC on the evening will be Mayor of Wexford George Lawlor.
Commenting on the upcoming final, one of the organiser’s of the event Philip Cullen said, “This has been an incredible first year of Wexford Has Talent, when we decided to run this event we had no idea of the standard of talent out there; at every stage the judges and the audience have had a very tough time deciding on who to vote for and the final is going to be a real showcase of talent and a great nights entertainment for everyone.”
