Great news for Wexford women –
Following on from the very successful PEIL (Programme for Employment, Inclusion and Learning) programme delivered by CTEC between 2017-2019 and which resulted in 72% of the students gaining employment, CTEC has once again been successful in applying for ESF PEIL grants, this time securing two grants – one for Healthcare and Childcare training and one for Enterprise development.
CTEC Manager Patricia Howlin said: “CTEC is delighted to receive such a significant amount of funding, as it allows us to provide free training for women not on the live register who find it almost impossible to source funding for training elsewhere.”
This funding is aimed at women who are not on the live register and CTEC is now recruiting women to start QQI level 5 Health Service Skills and QQI level 6 Early Childhood Care and Education major awards qualifications required to work in the Healthcare and Childcare sectors. Women who are in receipt of a Carer’s, lone parent or disability allowance are eligible for this programme. The course is totally free will be delivered one day per week. Students will also receive Patient Moving and Handling and Occupational First Aid training – free of charge.
CTEC is also recruiting women interested in in starting their own business for an Enterprise programme, again aimed at those who are not on the live register and who have a business idea they would like to investigate, develop and bring to fruition with a view to being self-employed and maybe even offering employment to others.
The courses will begin towards the end of October and recruitment is starting immediately. If you are interested in either of these free programmes contact CTEC on 053 9121036 or email info@ctecwexford.ie.
