- New hires will be made over next 18 months and will be in technical and business development roles to support growth in managed services division
- Investment is focused on expanding its Network Operations Centre and managed service capabilities
Datapac, Ireland’s leading technology solutions and services provider, today announced it will create 35 new jobs at its location in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. The jobs are being created as part of a €2.1M investment which is funding significant expansion and enhancement of ICT managed services at Datapac’s Network Operations Centre.
Established in 1982, Datapac provides a comprehensive range of technology solutions and services to customers throughout Ireland. The company’s presence nationwide includes purpose built, state of the art facilities in Wexford and Dublin along with service centre locations around the country.
Datapac will begin recruiting immediately and expects the 35 new hires to be in place by the end of 2018. The job openings will primarily be in technical and business development roles to support Datapac’s expanded managed service offerings.
The investment is funding the continual development and expansion of Datapac’s Network Operation Centre (NOC). This includes new best-in-class remote monitoring and management platforms, as well as new automated technologies and enhanced training programmes for a growing team of more than 60 technical engineers. Datapac has invested several hundred engineer days to design, configure and implement the upgraded service infrastructure, which will provide completely tailored solutions for its customer base, ranging from SMEs to large enterprise and public sector organisations.
The upgraded NOC will increase Datapac’s managed service capabilities and enable the company to provide its existing customers with enhanced levels of service from its growing technical team. Also with demand for Datapac’s managed services growing, this investment is expected to drive new customer acquisition across a number of key service offerings. These include managed ICT security, backup and business continuity, infrastructure management, managed cloud services, and managed print and document solutions.
Karen O’Connor, general manager service delivery, Datapac, said, “In our 35th year of business, we’ve never been more excited by the opportunities that lie ahead. We’re delighted to announce this growth in employee numbers and the new investment in our business. This investment enables Datapac to continue to enhance our service offering to existing customers and to respond to the increased demand for our managed service solutions. Datapac has a scalable managed service platform in place which will help us to achive further business growth.
“At Datapac, we’re deeply aware of the challenges that Irish businesses face. We’ve designed and upgraded our service delivery offerings to meet these demands and remain one step ahead of their evolving needs. With a focus on service excellence and continuous improvement in our newly expanded Network Operations Centre, our customers will experience enhanced levels of service and insights that are unmatched in the Irish technology sector.”
An Tánaiste and Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Frances Fitzgerald, T.D., said, “I welcome this announcement from Datapac that it is making such a significant investment in its technology infrastructure and managed services division. It’s great to see such a long-established indigenous technology company continuing to innovate and grow after more than three decades in business. I’m particularly delighted that Datapac is helping to drive regional jobs growth in the South East with the creation of these 35 new positions. It is a fantastic endorsement of the talent and technical expertise of people living in the region that these types of highly-skilled roles can be filled here.”
