As the issue of 24/7 Cardiac Care continues to gain momentum within the region, the Health Equality For the South East (HEFSE.com) are hosting a special forum for the business community.
Supported by South East Chambers, the forum will focus on South East Cardiology Access and the implications of the proposed South East Cardiac Health policy resulting from the recently commissioned Herity Report.
From a business perspective, there are obvious implications to employee welfare, regional economic investment and the impacts to maintaining other regional high level clinical services. Although this issue may appear largely removed from the local business world, this policy direction will inform decision-making in many other areas of Government and cannot be underestimated.
Presenters include South East Consultants namely, Dr. Patrick Owens (Cardiology, Waterford), Dr. Aidan Buckley (Cardiology, Wexford), Dr. Niall Colwell (Cardiology, South Tipperary General Hospital).
In addition, in attendance will be Dr. Rob Landers (Previous Clinical Director, South West Hospital Group) and Dr. Mark Doyle (Head of Emergency Medicine at UHW). Also offering their expertise will be Dr. Ray Griffin and Dr. Cormac O’Keeffe from the WIT School of Business who will present on the economic and social impacts of the policy.
Attendees will be invited to participate in a Q&A after presentations. |
