The Strypes Get Ready to Rock on Friday
Lantern Events bring the Irish rhythm and blues band The Strypes to Selskar Under the Stars on Friday the 19th of December. The show starts at 8:30pm in the unique venue in Selskar Square.
Tickets are priced at €23.50 and are available online at www.wexfordwinterland.com.
The Strypes are a four piece band from Cavan and have gone from strength to strength in the past year. The group has spent the past 18 months launching their explosive R&B assault on the clubs and festivals of Ireland, the UK and Europe. Formed in 2011, consisting of Ross Farrelly (lead vocals/harmonica), Josh McClorey (lead guitar/vocals), Peter O’Hanlon (bass guitar/harmonica) and Evan Walsh (drums). The band played the local scene with various members switching parts as they searched for their sound.
They have been viciously hammering out a no-nonsense blues repertoire drawing from the songbooks of Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Howlin’ Wolf, Little Walter, Slim Harpo and more with the passion and venom of British blues groups such as Dr. Feelgood, The Yardbirds, The Rolling Stones and The Animals.
Lantern events are delighted to have them play an exclusive gig this Friday the 19th, following on the success of previous events such as Mick Flannery and Corner Boy.
