FDYS is ‘going yellow’ on 10th September to inspire hope and raise awareness in the prevention of suicide.
Businesses and organisations in Wexford will join FDYS in lighting up their buildings in yellow, shining as a beacon of light in raising awareness on the prevention of suicide
Everyone can show their support by wearing yellow on the day to remember a lost loved one and create hope for those in need
The theme for this year is “Creating Hope Through Action”. The aim is to focus on the actions we can take to create hope and prevent suicide. The event hopes to highlight how individual actions of support and compassion, no matter how big or small, can provide hope to those who are struggling. Through small gestures of support, we can make a difference to someone in their darkest moments. We can all play a role in supporting those experiencing a suicidal crisis or those bereaved by suicide.
FDYS Youth and Community Workers will be available on Wexford quay from 4pm to 7pm. This initiative is in conjunction with Help Me Through The Night – Mental Health Pop-Up Café. The event will shine a light on wide variety of supports available to Young People in Wexford. The aim is to support young people to gain the confidence to have the conversation by connecting them to the resources they need to support them.
