Charlotte Street was packed to capacity on Sunday 15th June as family and friends got together for Wexford’s first ever Street Feast.
Chefs Eugene Rockett from D’lush, Richie Trapp from Greenacres, Paul Hynes from La Cote, Peter Murphy from the Yard and Paul Roche from the Little Yard prepared fabulous food for over 200 people and the party ran from 2.30 until 6 pm. Music throughout the afternoon was courtesy of John Stewart and the wonderful Retired & Emotional Group of Wexford musicians.
Street Feast is a day of local lunches across Ireland on 14th June organized by people in the community. “ There are lots of good reasons to have a Street Feast, but it’s really just a great excuse to eat great food, celebrate your local community and meet new people who live or work near you” said Madeleine Quirke, CEO with Wexford Chamber and a Member of the Wexford Retail Group.
“Our Street Feast was a great example of how business and community can come together to create something special. Businesses donated food and the local chefs gave of their time to support this family day out. A great success and something that we will most definitely be repeating” she added.
