On behalf of Greenlink Interconnector Limited, Siemens Energy and Sumitomo Electric, I would like to invite you to join us at our upcoming ‘Meet-the-Buyer’ event at the Brandon House Hotel, New Ross, Co Wexford on Tuesday, November 9th.
As you will be aware, the Greenlink electricity interconnector will link the UK and Irish electricity transmission systems via 190km of underground and subsea cables between Wexford and Pembrokeshire, Wales. The project brings benefits on both sides of the Irish Sea for employment, energy security and the integration of low carbon energy sources.
Construction is scheduled to start in early 2022 and Greenlink and its appointed contractors, Siemens Energy and Sumitomo Electric, are committed to offering local supply chain opportunities wherever possible.
The Meet-the-Buyer event in Wexford on November 9th will run throughout the afternoon. It is an opportunity for local businesses and suppliers to hear the latest news about the project, including the construction programme, and meet representatives from Siemens Energy and Sumitomo Electric face-to-face to discuss what their businesses can offer and how to bid for contracts.
I will be joined by senior representatives from both Siemens Energy and Sumitomo Electric to provide an update on the project, outline the construction phase and discuss the benefits that the project will bring to the local area. Light refreshments will be served.
