As it prepares to celebrate its fifth birthday the The International Outdoor Adventure Centre (IOAC) in Tagoat continues to cater for both local Wexford people, national and international visitors and provides a range of fun-filled family friendly activities for campers and those visiting for the day. There have been many improvements to the activities this year which includes a new designated play area for children aged 3 – 12 years, containing swings and monkey bars for young explorers. The centre’s high ropes park has almost doubled in size and that as well as the crate-stacking adventure can be enjoyed by all those over the height of 130cm.
The popular battlezone has returned and it, along with the extended archery range, will provide fun for those buddying archers. The IOAC is building a loyal national and international fanbase with many visitors returning time and time again. Owners Adrian and Carmel Tennant are keen to stress that the centre is open to all, not just those staying with them on the campus. So local families who wish to have a fun day out can book in for adventures galore or avail of the summer camps which begin on Monday, July 4 and run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
All visitors will experience a fun filled outdoor adventure supported by our highly professional and welcoming staff team. Employing up to 40 staff during the peak season, Adrian and Carmel pride themselves on promoting local jobs and offering opportunities to young, enthusiastic staff members.
Many of those who work in the IOAC live within the area and have been working there during the summers while they attend school or college. The IOAC also works closely with other businesses within Wexford and will continue to grow these partnerships.
The IOAC is the ideal place for campers who bring their own tent, park up the camper van or touring caravan or staying in one of the specially designed glamping cabins which can accommodate up to four people and are ideal for visiting families.
Part of what makes the IOAC so popular is staff’s willingness to respond to customer feedback; Adrian and Carmel are constantly looking at ways to improve the IOAC and have even implemented changes on foot of suggestions from those who regularly stay with them. Given the atmosphere they have created in their first five years in business, it’s no surprise that the IOAC has recently won the County Wexford Activity Tourism Provider of the Year award and has become one of the county’s go-to destinations for visitors and locals alike. This success will be celebrated in fine style this coming Sunday,3rd July, at its fifth birthday party.
With live music, face painting, balloon modelling, and food at The Long Haul Cafe and Camp Fryer, this promises to be a fifth birthday to remember. And with activities available on the day at reduced prices this could be the perfect chance to check the IOAC out and introduce your family to its unique brand of family entertainment. Book the activities for this special day on our website www.ioac.ie or call the office on 053 9189022.
