Ire Wel Pallets are our business feature of the week, this is what they had to share with us.
Ire Wel Pallets, based at Wells, near Gorey, is Ireland’s leading pallet and packaging manufacturer, supplying pallets, boxes, and crates to Irish and UK customers. The pallets produced transport everything from medical devices, to pharmaceuticals, electronics, and food and drinks worldwide.
As an essential service during the pandemic, the IWP kiln-dried and heat treated pallets (to eliminate contamination) have helped keep Ireland’s supply chains safe. Innovation has been key to IWP’s success – after the Brexit vote, it proactively sought suppliers in Europe, ensuring no disruption when Brexit occurred. In addition, automation has increased output while securing the employment of its 50 staff at its state-of-the-art facility.
In 2020, owners Mary and Shay Walsh celebrated 30 years in business. “We see ourselves as a partner in growing our customers’ businesses,” said CEO Mary B. Walsh. “And we value our role as employers in our local community and as an integral part of the world’s supply chain, particularly now when both employment and the supply chain are vital to our “wellbeing.”
