The name Baku derives from the surnames of Mary Barry and Uwe Kuhn who along with Leslie Devereux began the business in the millenium year 2000. The vision was to become the partner of choice for the ‘forwarding industry’ across Europe. The business started in a small office at Killinick, Co Wexford.

From 2000 until today, the approach and dedication has been the same. Our success has been based on delivering outstanding service and flexibility to our customers. Our dedicated team have become known for their personal commitment and proactive solutions. At the heart of our success are our employees whose focus is to provide individually customised and innovative solutions to our customer’s needs.

During 2008 Biostor was founded as a subsidiary. This company is involved in cryogenic storage, transportation and research. Based at our Logistics facility in Rosslare Europort Biostor has constructed a technologically advanced repository for storage and distribution of biological material at temperatures up to minus 196 degrees celcius.

This venture supports our commitment and extends our link with the pharma and medical industries.

For over 10 years Baku has experienced continuous and controlled growth. Our growth has been based on the objectives of exceeding our customers’ expectations, optimising our solutions every day, improving performance, achieving objectives and winning new markets. Our growth is a shared growth.
