The RTÉ TV cameras have been busy visiting many tourism attractions from the North to the South of Wexford. Two RTÉ Nationwide programmes are set to be aired on July 6th and July 8th with both programmes featuring content dedicated to Wexford’s fine tourism sites and attractions.
On Monday, July 6th RTÉ Nationwide will feature a full programme captured at tourism sites in North Wexford all with a heritage focus; this programme will feature Enniscorthy Castle, the 1798 National Rebellion Centre, Vinegar Hill, Heritage Tours Wexford, Oulart Hill, Ferns Village and Wells House.
The programme set to air on July 8th starts with a tour of some South Wexford sites with Sean Cooke and Hooked Safari’s, followed by the thrills and spills of adventure in Wexford with Sheilbaggan and Niall Roche at Hooked Kite Surfing. The camera along with presenter Mary Kennedy also visit Kilmokea House and Gardens, Johnstown Castle, Rathaspeck Manor and Dolls House and Greenacres Restaurant in Wexford town where they chat about the array of Wexford produce on offer.
Commenting on the programmes, Chair of Visit Wexford Bettie Marie Burger-Smit said, “These programmes are a fantastic showcase of the tourism offering in Wexford, it raises awareness of what’s on offer in North and South Wexford to the whole country, the average RTÉ Nationwide viewership figures are approximately half a million people for each programme so we are delighted to be working with RTÉ and promoting Wexford to such a huge audience.”
The RTÉ Nationwide programmes will air on RTÉ 1 on Monday, July 6th and Wednesday, July 8th at 7pm.
