Sensible Safety Ltd is a family run Health & Safety training and consultancy business run by Shane and Nikki Dunphy. After originally working in AMPM Safety & Environmental Ltd alongside his father Pat, Sensible Safety Ltd was established by Shane and Nikki Dunphy upon, Pat’s retirement.
Shane Dunphy began his journey in Health and Safety after joining AMPM Safety & Environmental in 2006 having completed his degree in Bachelor of Business in Recreation and Leisure in addition to the National Certificate in Fitness & Exercise at Waterford Institute of Technology.
During this time with AMPM Safety & Environmental Ltd Shane gained a vast of amount of valuable knowledge and experience creating positive safety culture through behavioural changes across various different sectors of industry. Ensuring that all the organisations were in compliance with their statutory legal requirements and ensuring safety became part of the culture of the business through employee involvement and consultation.
However, most importantly the passion for Health and Safety has been past to the next generation of the family, as Pat’s family tragedy changed his outlook on the importance of safety forever, this evident in the ethos of Sensible Safety as we aim to ensure that no other family goes through the pain and turmoil of a family bereavement due to a work place accident.
