Our annual awards were originally scheduled to be held in May, before the pandemic outbreak led to them being postponed to later in the year.
However, having taken further stock of the situation and latest Government guidelines, we have decided to move all plans forward to next year.
In recognition of the challenging conditions facing all sectors of the County Wexford economy, we feel postponing the awards for this year to allow businesses to focus on overcoming the impact of coronavirus.
Emma Dunphy, County Chamber Operational Manager said: “We are really disappointed to cancel the awards for this year. We know how much the business community enjoys coming together to celebrate everything that is great about County Wexford and hearing stories about the amazing companies across the region.
“However, we felt that this is not the right time to ask businesses to reflect on a successful 12 months in such an uncertain climate. Plus, we could not guarantee the gala dinner would go ahead later in the year, which is a highlight of the awards for everyone involved.”
The awards will be back bigger and better next year, aiming to be our best celebration to date and, reflecting the challenging times faced by businesses and communities, the awards will recognise how businesses have supported each other and the community. Looking forward to 2021 🤞🤞
