Over 50 local business people enjoyed a Wexford Chamber Business After Hours at the Natural Health Store on Thursday 15th June.
After starting up four years ago in the height of the recession, the Meehan family have proven that hard work and persistence pays off. Their thirty plus years in retail industry is prevalent in every aspect of the business and as Christine Meehan stated herself ‘The Customers begin their journey with us as soon as they walk into the store’. Priding themselves on their expert knowledge and advice along with their passion and compassion they have earned their customer’s trust which has enabled them to build such a successful business.
The event which took place downstairs in their store on Wexford’s main street was packed full with guests; attendees were treated to delicious finger food by Westgate Design and given the opportunity to speak with several of the stores trained Nutritional Therapists and Health Coaches.
Both Christine Meehan and Claire Whitty spoke. Christine told of how the Natural Health Store came to be and how each member of the Meehan family plays a close and vital role in the date to day running of the store. Claire spoke on the different treatments and services available varying from coffee information mornings and free talks to holistic therapists and angel card readings. She also spoke of her blog and the work they do to support the local charities around town. Michelle O’Neill, World Cup FIFA Assistant Referee, was the special guest speaker and told about her journey in what is mainly a male dominated industry, which showed that once again hard work and dedication pays off.
Niall Reck, Vice President Wexford Chamber, said “We were delighted to work with the Meehan family. An inspiration to all retailers on the art of what is possible through hard work and self-belief. With Wexford Chamber’s focus on health and wellbeing in the workplace, this BAH was timely and welcomed by all.”
The evening ended with a business card draw. Maurice McGee, ESB won a Massage Voucher from Slaney Health & Beauty valued at €100. 2nd prize was a Natural Health Store hamper and was won by June O’ Hanlon and 1st prize , an even bigger hamper from the Natural Health Store was taken home by a very happy Shana Balducci of Gabriel Pianos.
