Trial Pedestrianisation of South Street Top of Charles St to Old Cinema Information
In order to assist Traders dealing with the effects of #Covid19 on their businesses, New Ross Municipal District, following engagement with Wexford County Chamber is trialling 4 weekends of Pedestrianisation on each Friday, Saturday and Sunday in August 2020 beginning this weekend, Friday 7th August. This was considered to be the preferred option resulting from the Chambers meetings and surveys with Traders.
During this time, South St will be closed to traffic from 8am Friday mornings to 11pm on Sunday nights.
To ensure that no one is blocked in on Friday mornings, parking on the street will not be available from 7pm on Thursday night to 11pm on Sunday night.
The Road Closure statutory notices were placed in the local newspapers.
New Ross Municipal District has provided funding for tables and chairs which will be put out for use by any Traders and it will also link in with New Ross Summer Sessions which is currently each Saturday and Sunday.
