The shortlist for the 2017 Wexford Business Awards, sponsored by Wexford County Council and the EPA, has been announced.
Now in their 9th year, the Business Awards work hard to uncover and showcase the best of what County Wexford has to offer. This year saw a 21% increase in the number of entries, a record for the Wexford Business Awards, and the shortlist was drawn from 175 submissions across the South East with many organisations entering for the first time. In all, just over 100 entries are going forward to the final interview stage which will take place in Clayton Whites Hotel, Wexford, on Monday 24th April. Judges, sponsored by Morgan McKinley, will score each application on multiple criteria and the runners-up and winners will be selected across all categories. The prestigious Overall Business of the Year Award will also be decided upon at this stage.
The 2017 shortlist includes some names that have featured in the Business Awards before and, in fact, some past winners. All categories have attracted the highest calibre of applications which ensures the highest standard of competition.
Winners will be announced at the Gala Dinner which will take place in Clayton Whites on Friday 26th May. Hosted by Hector, with music by local band Corner Boy, tickets for the event are already selling quickly. To book your tables, and to avoid disappointment, please contact traceymorgan@wexfordchamber.ie or telephone 053 91 22226.
Madeleine Quirke, CEO Wexford Chamber, said, “We were delighted with the increase in submissions for the awards this year. The support we have from businesses across the county both in terms of applications and in terms of sponsorship has been phenomenal. Good luck to everybody, you are all winners insofar as Wexford Chamber is concerned.”
