On Tuesday last, Wexford Chamber exhibited at the Completely Retail & Leisure Marketplace Expo in Dublin Castle, promoting Wexford to both national retailers and commercial estate agents.
“In order to maximise our potential as a prime retail destination, Wexford Chamber feels that it is important to utilise the county’s unoccupied properties to attract more high profile brands to the county” said Madeleine Quirke, CEO Wexford Chamber.
Therefore, in association with Wexford County Council, Wexford Chamber has developed a comprehensive retail investor prospectus, which was circulated on the day.
This event provided a unique opportunity for Wexford Chamber to meet with retail specialists in Lisney, CBRE, Colliers and DTZ, all of whom represent the interests of many leading retail brands.
With many large retailers also present on the day, including H&M, Iceland, Elvery Sports, Next and River Island, Wexford Chamber were able to make a compelling business case as to why national retailers should locate in the Model County.
Karl Fitzpatrick, President of Wexford Chamber said “Our objective is to put Wexford firmly on the map of national retailers, which are planning to grow their retail brands across Ireland. It is not realistic to expect that we can compete with the cities, however, we feel that Wexford has the potential to become the number one destination for those retailers that wish to expand into towns.”
Exhibiting at the Completely Retail & Leisure Marketplace Expo is the first in a series of targeted initiatives that Wexford Chamber and Wexford County Council are planning to implement, with a view to attracting high profile retailers to the county.
