Beautiful weather, fantastic course and enthusiastic golfers all made for an enjoyable fundraiser in aid of St Patrick’s Special School in Enniscorthy last Friday, 15th September. Sponsored by Donohue Skoda Enniscorthy and supported by many local businesses who sponsored tees, greens and prizes, a great turnout for a 4 person scramble shotgun start at 2 pm.
The winners were team Zurich 57.7 points, with runners-up Wexford Golf Club 59.2. Nearest pin went to Nick Reville and longest drive to Denis Duggan. Zurich were presented with the AIB Perpetual Trophy, a beautiful crystal vase, which has been in existence since 1997.
Lee Rogers, Principal, spoke about St Patrick’s School which serves special needs children across the whole of Co. Wexford. “We are absolutely delighted that the Chamber chose to help St Patrick’s on this occasion and a big thank you from all the pupils” he added.
Sean Mythen provided music during the evening’s celebrations and all players enjoyed a delicious supper in Masters Restaurant in the golf club.
Speaking at the event, Madeleine Quirke, CEO Wexford Chamber, thanked everybody for their support. “This golf classic is proving to be very popular year on year and already we are looking forward to bigger numbers in 2018.”
