Forus-P, a cybersecurity company based in Bunclody, Co. Wexford, and in the Netherlands, has joined a programme to educate secondary school students. The Cyber Ireland South-East Chapter’s new cyber security programme is targeted at second-level students across the region. This five-week programme, that launched in January 2025, aims to introduce students to the vital and rapidly growing field of cybersecurity.
Empowering next generation
The pilot programme involves 20 schools in the South East, with plans to expand nationwide. Its main goal is to raise awareness about cybersecurity careers -especially for girls, who are crucial in diversifying this male-dominated sector. As an all-female cyber security company, Forus-P is thrilled to be part of a programme that encourages more young female students to consider cybersecurity as a career path.
Cybersecurity is more important than ever, with the industry growing rapidly and offering significant career opportunities. Forus-P’s Co-CEO, Eveline van Manen, has kicked off the programme in a number of schools. As an industry expert, she shares her expertise with students and highlights the incredible potential of a career in this field.
Collaboration with SETU and CALMAST
Eveline has introduced Transition Year students to a series of engaging, hands-on activities, including cyberattack simulations, digital forensics investigations, and message encoding exercises. This offers the students a deeper look into the tools, skills, and career opportunities available in cybersecurity.
The programme is a collaboration with SETU and CALMAST, sponsored by leading cybersecurity companies, and provides students with the opportunity to gain first-hand insight from professionals and understand how they can contribute to this essential sector.
With cybersecurity jobs in Ireland set to be more than double by 2030, the programme offers an invaluable chance for young people to explore career paths in this booming industry. Forus-P is thrilled to be involved in shaping the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and empowering students—especially young girls—to explore this exciting and important field.
